Back in Falmouth again! :)
Sorry for the delayed post. I can’t believe I have already been back in Falmouth for nearly two weeks! I love being back and have enjoyed getting to know some of the other masters students over the last few days. I’ve already made plans for kayaking and surfing and hopefully more fun things in the future. Classes don’t start until Monday, but we’ve been doing a first aid...

Parents come tomorrow
I have had a great last few weeks in Cornwall. I’ve been out kayaking, surfing, swimming, and generally enjoying the lovely weather. I am sad to be leaving, but I also look forward to going home. It should be fun to show the parents around Cornwall for a bit. I am wondering how we are going to pack all of these things for the trip back home…

I just got my exam results back, and I made all firsts on my courses this semester!

It included London, Cork, Galway, Sligo, Omagh, Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Loch Ness, Hadrian’s Wall, The Lake District, Wales, the Jurassic Coast, back to Cornwall, and then Cyprus with my course! I can’t even begin to...

Ireland
We just arrived in Ireland. We are at Sheila’s hostel in Cork about to head out into town!
Spring Break!!!
Tomorrow I have a conservation field trip to a local estuary to collect information on the feeding rates of shorebirds. I turn in the lab report, and then I am done! Starting Saturday I will be traveling for a month straight. London, Ireland, Scotland, Cyprus here I come!
Horseback riding
I had a great time horseback riding today. I rode a 17.2 hand chestnut warmblood named Pod. He was so sweet. Group lessons are kind of restricting, but still fun. Next time we might get to go for a gallop on the beach :) After Easter I will try to start going regularly. I will be pretty busy between classes, fencing, rock climbing, and horseback riding! I still have to try surfing too.
A journalism master student did a story on the marine rescue course while I was there. If you look really closely you can see me :)
Things
I went geocaching at midnight yesterday with Sam, James, Twix, and Felix. We had a great time! I picked up a pirate geocoin which I plan on planting in a cache in the states when I get back. We also picked up some travel bugs so we can put them in caches during our Ireland trip (including a teddy bear that really wants to go to an Irish pub). Pictures to come. Today was St. Piran’s day. I...

Update
I had a great time paintballing! Ecosoc plans to go again later this spring, and I will defo attend. I was only hit on the helmet and gun, so I have to go back to know what it feels like to get hit properly. The birdwatching trip was fun, but we didn’t have the best weather. It was rainy and hard to see through the binoculars. The guide was most excited about the spoonbills we saw, and said...
I went fencing yesterday! I forgot to bring my camera, but I will be fencing on Wednesdays from here on out and will be sure to get embarassing pictures of myself in fencing gear eventually. I am going on a bird watching boat trip on Sunday, to a paitball war between Ecosoc and Geosoc on Valentines day, and hiking with the expedition society in Dartmoor later this month.
First day of the new semester
After my first class of the semester, Evolutionary Biology, it SNOWED in Cornwall! Which doesn’t happen very often, apparently. We had a great time throwing snowballs and making snow angels until we ran into a dilemma. The road was closed and we had to get to Falmouth for the Chinese New Year celebration. Sooo we walked to Falmouth in the snow, had a good time at dinner, and my table won the...
